Manager, Alumni Relations & Community Projects, Philadelphia Phillies
TJ Farrell joined the Phillies in March of 2014 and works in the Alumni Relations and Community Projects department. In this position with the organization, TJ and the outreach team strive to connect the Phillies players, coaches, broadcasters, alumni, and front office members with the community through events and special projects. Additionally, TJ works closely with the team’s alumni and their families, ensuring the rich history of the Philadelphia Phillies organization continues to be showcased. Born in Broomall, PA, TJ graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Communications and minors in Economics and Writing & Rhetoric. He obtained his graduate degree from West Chester University (PA.) in Business Administration. He and his wife, Kristina, reside in Havertown, PA. In February 2021, TJ and the Phillies community team coordinated the inception of the organization’s mental health awareness program, “Strike Out the Stigma”. Once a program created out of necessity, Strike Out the Stigma has turned into the heartbeat of the organization’s philanthropic efforts to raise awareness and dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health. The program serves as a vital bridge between the Phillies organization and the mental health community. The purpose of the Strike Out the Stigma program is to support individuals struggling with mental health challenges, bring important conversations to the forefront, educate families and support systems on crisis intervention, and honor the dedicated professionals working within the mental health industry. The program focuses on raising vital awareness and funds for local non-profits, hosting meaningful, memorable events for participants, and providing necessary educational resources regarding mental health aid. Ultimately, the foundational mission of the program remains constant: to reinforce the message that mental health impacts everyone, and that you are “Never Fightin’ Alone”.
